Product overview

Features

Elvaco Edge comes with a wide feature set, with the possibility to adapt its function based on your specific metering project. Some of the key features include:

  • IoT-ready: As soon as the gateway has been activated, it will automatically initiate contact with DM server over LTE-M network, without any manual steps needed. The gateway is prepared for seamless integration with all leading IoT platforms.

  • Mains or battery powered: Thanks to its efficient power usage, Elvaco Edge can be battery operated up to 16 years with daily transmission of meter data. If there is a requirement of high data granularity, the battery lifetime will be affected. The gateway can also be mains-powered.

  • Commissioning using Elvaco Play: Elvaco Play enables fast, secure configuration and deployment of Elvaco Edge. Scan the Elvaco Play QR code on the gateway for quick and automatic installation and configuration of your gateway. Settings are applied instantly using standardized protocol, LwM2M.

  • Flexible hardware build: Elvaco Edge has different hardware variants to choose from, enabling a tailored solution for your specific metering project. Choose between IP55 and IP65, 4 (4T) or 128 (128T) wired M-Bus meters, or wireless M-Bus meters.

  • Standardized protocols: Choose between data delivery using LwM2M or MQTT-SN over LTE-M or NB-IoT network.

Push button functionality

The functionality of the push button depends whether the device is active or inactive state, and for how long time the button is pressed. If the gateway is in an inactive state, the only functionality available is to activate the device by pressing the push button for 5-9 seconds (LEDs turn flashes green) and then releasing it. However if the gateway is in an active state, there are more available functionalities available. For the complete set of functionalities using the push button, see below table.
