Installation

DIN-rail mounting

The product is mounted on a DIN-rail. The clip on the bottom is used to attach and detach the product from the DIN-rail. For safety reasons, a DIN-rail enclosure must cover all terminals.

Connecting to Ethernet

Warning

All equipment connected to the Ethernet RJ45 must have double or reinforced insulation from mains to prevent the risk of electric shock.

  • Connect the TP-cable to the RJ45 connector.

On successful connection to switch/hub, the yellow Link LED is permanently on.

Connecting to M-Bus

M-Bus is a multi-drop 2-wire bus, with no polarity.

  1. Use cable of telephone type (i.e. EKKX 2x2x0.5 mm) or standard mains type (1.5 mm2).

  2. Connect the wiring to the connector.

Warning

All equipment connected to the M-Bus must have double or reinforced insulation from mains to prevent the risk of electric shock.

Note

All connected M-Bus slave devices must have unique primary or secondary M-Bus addresses depending on addressing mode used.

Caution

Do not exceed the maximum cable length of 1000 m.

Caution

The internal M-Bus interface can handle up to 8 M-Bus slave devices. Overloading the bus will cause communication problems with the connected slaves.

CMe2100 IR interface

By using the IR interface, CMe2100 can communicate with Elvaco M-Bus Masters and Wireless M-Bus Receivers (CMeX Series) as well as ABB electricity meters without using any cables. Mount the CMe2100 next to the other device, with the IR interfaces of the two products facing each other. Before attempting to use the IR interface, make sure to remove the IR shield.

Connecting the power supply

  1. Connect main supply to screw terminal for power supply N and power supply L. Main supply voltage should be in the range of 100-240 VAC, 50/60 Hz.

  2. Connect the power to a clearly marked and easily accessible switch to make sure the product can be switched off during service work.

Caution

The power supply must be protected with a 10 A circuit breaker of characteristics C or slow blow fuse.

Warning

The installation must be performed by a qualified electrician or another professional with the required knowledge.
