Updating firmware

Elvaco regularly launches new firmware updates for products to enable continuous improvement and new functionality. A new firmware can easily be installed using the web interface, simply by uploading the firmware file.

Note

See https://support.elvaco.com/hc/en-us for the latest software releases. Read the release notes carefully before installing new software.

  1. Go to System > Firmware update.

  2. Select Upload new firmware file, choose a firmware file (.tar) and select Upload.

  3. Select Continue.

  4. Select Reboot now. The reboot might take up to an hour to complete.

Note

The power must not be cut during the update. Do not attempt to update the browser, the page will automatically reload once the reboot has been completed.

Note

If the firmware version used is older than version 1.6.0 and is updated to 1.6.0 or later, the link-local address for the USB network interface will be changed from 192.168.100.1 to 169.254.254.1. The device will then be unable to automatically reload the page when the reboot has finished if performed over USB cable. The same applies if the IP address has been changed manually. To make sure that the reboot is completed, the LED lights will instead have to be used. When the green and the red LED light blink alternately, the reboot is ongoing. When the green LED blinks with a “80 percent on-20 percent off” frequency, the rebooting has been completed.
