Install Elvaco Edge Play Gateway

Elvaco Edge Play Gateway have the Elvaco Play ready sticker applied on it placed under the lid. This QR code token is used to claim the ownership of that device in Elvaco Play. Encryption keys are already known internally by Elvaco Play, and thus, no key handling is needed by the customer. There is also included meta data available of the gateway. Installing Elvaco Edge Play is done using Elvaco Play App, by scanning the the QR code applied on the device. Make sure that you are in the correct organisation before starting the automated installation process in the app.

Note

Upon delivery, the gateway is set to inactive mode, which means that it is not connected to the cellular network. The gateway is activated when installing the device using Elvaco Play App.

1. Press install		2. Scan the QR code located under the lid of the gateway to claim it to your Elvaco Play organisation		3. Press continue
4. Scan by placing the NFC antenna in your phone on the center of your gateway		5. [Recommended] Assign a location (i.e facility name) to your device to know where it is located		6. Your installation is now complete.

Warning

Do not start your Elvaco Edge Play using the push button or Elvaco OTC App.

Tip

The NFC configuration lock is automatically enabled after a set time of 15 minutes, starting from when the device is activated. During this initial period, installers can modify certain settings—such as switching to an external cellular antenna—using the Elvaco OTC App. Make sure to install it using Elvaco Play App, before changing any settings.

Install your meters before installing your gateways for quickest feedback of your installation progress.

Install Elvaco Play CMe2100 LTE G2 Gateway

Elvaco Play CMe2100 LTE G2 have the Elvaco Play token sticker integrated on the product label. This QR code token is used to claim the ownership of that device in Elvaco Play. Encryption keys are already known internally by Elvaco Play, and thus, no key handling is needed by the customer. There is also included meta data available of the gateway. Installing CMe2100 LTE G2 is done using Elvaco Play app, by scanning the the QR code applied on the device. Make sure that you are in the correct organisation before starting the automated installation process in the app.

Upon delivery, the gateway needs to be installed with mains power to enable an installation. The gateway is activated using Elvaco Play app

1. Press install	2. Scan the QR code located on the gateway to claim it to your Elvaco Play organisation	3. Press continue
4. Manually enter the phone number and, if required, the APN. Alternatively, confirm the pre-filled information. Then press Continue	5. [Recommended] Assign a location (i.e facility name) to your device to know where it is located	6. Your device is now claimed
7. Press Configure via SMS to setup the gateway

Warning

Unecnrypted SMS commands sent from a phone's SMS app will be rejected by the gateway. The configuration is done using Elvaco Play app.

Note

Meters connected to a CMe2100 LTE G2 are installed from the Configuration tab of the selected gateway in Elvaco Play app. They are not installed from the device list in Elvaco Play Portal or Elvaco Play app.

Install Elvaco Play Ready meters

Elvaco Play ready meters and sensors have the Elvaco Play ready sticker applied on it. This QR code token is the way to claim the ownership of that device in Elvaco Play. The advantages of buying an Elvaco Play ready meter or sensor is that encryption keys are already known internally by Elvaco Play, and thus, no key handling is needed by the customer. There is also more meta data available of the meter or sensor.

Installing Elvaco Play ready meter or sensor is done using Elvaco Play App, by scanning the the QR code applied on the device. Make sure that you are in the correct organisation before starting the installation process.

Press Install
Press Scan QR Code
Scan the Elvaco Play QR code on the device to claim it to your organisation
[Recommended] Create a Location and assign the gateway to it
Installation complete

Install meters

Elvaco Play allows you to install both wired and wireless M-Bus devices. You can choose to install devices individually or in batches.

Install individual meters

Installing an individual meter can be done either be done using Elvaco Play App or Elvaco Play Portal. Installing a meter using Elvaco Play portal, see the section 'Batch install meters' below. Before you start the installation process, make sure that you are in the correct organisation. See the guided workflow below for installing your meters.

Press Install
Manually insert the serial number
Insert meta data as encryption key or baud rate depending on type of meter, see images below
[Recommended] Create a Location and assign the device to it

Batch install meters

Installing a batch of meters (or one meter) can be done using the import functionality in Elvaco Play Portal. Before you start the installation process, make sure that you are logged in and in the correct organisation. See the guided workflow below for installing your meters.

Go to tab Devices
Press Add meter
Switch to Upload file and download Meter template
Fill out the template according presented instructions
Import the file into Elvaco Play and press Add

Note

For wired M-Bus meters, you are required to set the baud rate of the meters.

Note

For wireless M-Bus meters, you need to set the encryption key of your meters in order to get decrypted meter data in Elvaco Play.
