Product overview
Key features of the CMe2100 LTE G2 include:
-
An integrated M-Bus Master which can drive up to 16 unit loads, 16T. By using an M-Bus Master from Elvaco, the number can be extended to up to 256 unit loads (256T).
-
Customized meter value reports via HTTPS/HTTP, FTPS/FTP and e-mail.
-
Remote configuration of settings using the mobile networks.
The CMe2100 is compatible with a wide range of meters, including:
-
All types of M-Bus meters, regardless of manufacturer.
-
The following temperature and humidity sensors, manufactured by Elvaco: CMa10, CMa10w, CMa11, CMa11w, CMa12w, CMa20, CMa20w.
-
All ABB electricity meters equipped with IR interface.
The CMe2100 can perform readouts of wired M-Bus meters, wireless M-Bus meters, or a combination of both. To read wireless M-Bus meters, the Metering Gateway will have to be combined with a wireless M-Bus receiver, for example Elvaco’s CMeX50.

The CMe2100/CMi2110/CMi2130 has a built-in command parser, which analyses all the incoming commands executed by SMS or Telnet mode. By default, all the commands create a response from the product. The product will respond with OK if the command is completed successfully. If not, the product will respond with ERROR [Error description].
Each CMe2100/CMi2110/CMi2130 command corresponds to a security level. Depending on that level, a security code may be needed to execute certain commands. It is important to note that the security functionality is by default set to off and needs to be enabled. To learn more about configuring the security settings of the CMe2100/CMi2110/CMi2130, see Security features.
For CMe2100 LTE G2 SMS commands must be encrypted before they are sent to the device to fulfill regulatory requirements. The device confirm the command with Encrypted Gateway responses. Recommended solution is to use Elvaco Play app, instead of sending SMS directly to your device. However, it is possible to encrypt the commands outside of Elvaco Play, see Encrypted SMS communication for information.
Tip
Configuration using the Elvaco Play app allows users to enter plain SMS commands directly in the app. Elvaco Play encrypts the communication before sending it to the product. This keeps the installation secure while maintaining the usability of previous product versions, where configuration could be performed using plain SMS commands from a mobile phone.
CMe2100 LTE G2 provides a human-readable NFC status record. The information can be read from the NFC tag and contains product, firmware, device, communication key, and license information. The NFC status record includes the following information:
