Symptoms
CMe/CMi GSM/GPRS products can no longer synchronize time with the factory default time server. This results in that the time will not be synhronized and the product will try to reconnect (by default 5 times every 12th hour).
Purpose
The article describes how to change the time server settings to use a new time server.
Resolution
Configure the time server by downloading settings from Elvaco distribution server:
Send the following command to the product (by SMS or Telnet):
password2;sync timeserver
Where password2 is the security level 2 password, which is by default 2222.
Example:
2222;sync timeserver
The product will connect to Elvaco distribution server and download new time server settings.
Manual configuration:
Send the following command to the product (by SMS or Telnet):
password2;set common.time.mode=ntp,daytime common.time.ntp.server=se.pool.ntp.org common.time.daytime.server=time.nist.gov common.net.gprsclass=8
Where password2 is the security level 2 password, which is by default 2222.
Example:
2222;set common.time.mode=ntp,daytime common.time.ntp.server=se.pool.ntp.org common.time.daytime.server=time.nist.gov common.net.gprsclass=8
